Kehoe Family Research

My main interest is Geneology discovery, especially for the surnames KEHOE (all spellings) Scott, Low, Elder, Thomas and the list goes on.

Geocities shut down.  My first website was stared in 1997 and it a process to update and move all the files from there to here.  My goal is to get it all over here so you can work on your family research.

Watch as this site grows and changes.   8/25/11 More technical difficulties...........

We can't choose our neighbors or our family!

I'd still pick this one!

The Walter Low Family Christmas of 1956

Lots of new and exciting things will be appearing here as I discover new relatives.

Each family line is separated for easy searching.

This is a labor of love that began in the late 1990's and got me through many sleepless menopausal nights.

Our Kehoe Family tree report is of the Kehoe Family who left Leighlinbridge, Co. Carlow Ireland and arrived in the US in 1826.  Patrick and Bridgett Byrne Kehoe had 7 children.  The first two daughters were baptized at St. Larzarins, in Leighlinbridge, Co. Carlow, Ireland.  They arrived in the US with two daughters and had five sons while living in  Charlotte, Vermont.

The oldest daughter Anne, we have little information on as of yet.  Margaret and Mary married in Vermont and raised generations of descendents. Sons, William and John settled in Wisconsin around 1850 and spread Kehoe’s throughout the Midwest. Sons, Michael and Joseph lost their lives in the Civil war with Vermont units.  Youngest brother James visited his Wisconsin brothers, signed up in Janesville Wisconsin and fought in Texas during the Civil War.  It was an event that saved his life.  He however never married, retired and passed in the Vermont area.

I started doing family research, as my husband Daniel R. Kehoe is the last of his line of Kehoes.  We have three daughters;so there the Kehoe line ends;  in surname only.  I felt bad about the end of the line -  but have discovered there are thousands of Kehoe/Keogh’s spread far and wide across this nation.  Kehoe is still in the top 100 surnames of Ireland.

If you connect within this family tree, please contact me as we have much information to share.  Visit my website for old pictures and maps and trip information to Ireland as I dug up the old Kehoe’s in Co. Carlow.  Not literally.  This has been a journey and a labor of love.

Blessings to all who read this.
